Privacy Policy
This website is operated by Nikechukwu Ndukwe, a licensed real estate associate registered with Decore Real Estate Ltd. This policy explains what personal information is collected here, why, and what you can do about it.
Note on the brokerage. All real estate trading activity is conducted in the name of Decore Real Estate Ltd. Once you become a client, the brokerage's own personal information policy and its obligations under Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) govern the handling of your information, alongside this policy. Ask the brokerage for a copy of that policy at any time.
What is collected
- Information you give me. Your name, email address, phone number, buying or selling intent, and anything you write in the message box of the contact form.
- Basic technical information. The hosting provider records standard web server data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, for security and to keep the site running.
- No advertising trackers, no data brokers, and no cookies beyond what the hosting provider requires to serve the site.
Why it is collected and how it is used
- To answer your enquiry and provide the real estate services you asked about.
- To send you market updates or new listings, but only if you ticked that optional box on the form.
- To meet record-keeping obligations under the Real Estate Act and the rules of the Real Estate Council of Alberta.
Your information is never sold, rented, or traded.
Consent
Sending an enquiry through the form is consent to be replied to, and nothing more. Marketing messages such as market updates require the separate optional box on the form, which is never pre-ticked. This follows Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every marketing email carries a working unsubscribe link and identifies both the sender and the brokerage. You may withdraw consent at any time by replying to any message or emailing the address below.
Who it is shared with
Only where necessary to deliver the service you asked for, and only with:
- Decore Real Estate Ltd., as the brokerage of record;
- service providers acting on my behalf, such as website hosting, form delivery, and email; and
- where required by law, or by RECA, CREB®, or a court.
Where it is stored
The website and contact form are hosted by third-party providers whose servers may be located outside Canada, including in the United States. Information stored in another country may be accessible to that country's law enforcement and regulators. If you would rather not submit information through the form, call or text instead.
How it is protected
- The whole site is served over HTTPS. Anything you type into the form is encrypted in transit.
- Security headers are enforced at the server, including a Content Security Policy, HSTS, and a ban on this site being framed by another.
- The site is static. There is no database, no login, and no admin panel to break into.
- Form submissions are delivered to a mailbox protected by two-factor authentication.
- Only the information needed to reply to you is requested. Please do not send identification, banking details, or documents through the form.
Fraud warning. Real estate transactions are a common target for wire fraud. Nikechukwu Ndukwe will never email you wire transfer, deposit, or banking instructions. If you receive any that appear to come from her or from Decore Real Estate Ltd., telephone (403) 671-1314 and verify before sending any funds.
How long it is kept
Enquiries that do not become client relationships are kept only as long as reasonably needed to follow up, then deleted. Client records are retained by the brokerage for the period required by the Real Estate Act Rules.
Your rights under PIPA
Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act gives you the right to ask what personal information is held about you, to request access to it, to have inaccurate information corrected, and to withdraw consent. Requests are answered within the timelines PIPA requires, at no charge for routine requests. If you are not satisfied with the response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
Children
This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with an updated date.
